What you'll be challenged to do:

The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience in structural engineering design for multiple types of bridges and structures to public clients.  Under supervision, performs plan development and calculations of varying degrees of difficulty for a wide variety of assignments that may include technical studies, structural design and analysis for bridges and related structures, load ratings, and quantities. May function as an Assistant Team Leader for bridge inspection assignments.  Independently evaluates and applies standard techniques and conducts reviews of work and prepares reports and letters. 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

* Develop designs in accordance with applicable design guidelines.
* Functions as Assistant Team Leader on bridge inspection activities for routine structures and assists with the inspection of complex structures.
* Develops calculations, specifications, quantities of materials and cost estimates as part of the project team.
* Develop construction element durations and construction schedules.
* Produces drawings and specifications within specific tasks that meet the scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and satisfies all federal, state, and local requirements.
* Develop draft scope of work, schedule for development of deliverables, and cost estimates to provide services on task assignments.
* Reviews shop drawings to determine conformance with the contract documents.
* May provide direction to less experienced engineers.
* Communicates with clients on behalf of the project team under supervision of the Bridge Design Task Leader and/or Project Manager.
* Attends public and agency meetings and participates under direct supervision of the Bridge Design Task Leader and/or Project Manager.
* Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams and lead tasks.
* Provide review of design methods and preparation of details and drawings.
* Representing GFT at industry and professional events.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
* Professional Engineer License and ability to obtain multiple jurisdictions
* 5+ years of applicable experience designing roadway infrastructure
* Expertise with CADD
* Expertise with structural design and analysis software
* Working knowledge of Design Manuals and Design Guidelines
* Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
