Overview:
This Position is Physically Located in Iraq, Balad
The Technician - BASH, is responsible for the reduction of the potential threat posed to aircraft operations by wildlife and aviary hazards on the airfield and surrounding areas. The Technician - BASH, may employ both manual and remote BASH hazard equipment in support of the elimination/mitigation of the hazard. The Technician - BASH, should have a working knowledge of all civil aviation guidelines relevant to BASH control and reduction procedures including, but not limited to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document, Airport Services Manual - Part 3 (Wildlife Control and Reduction).
Responsibilities:

* Assists in the reduction of the potential threat posed to aircraft operations by wildlife and aviary hazards on the airfield and surrounding areas.
* Works with the BASH Supervisor in identifying, reducing and/or eliminating potential BASH threats.
* Employs both manual and remote BASH hazard equipment in support of the elimination/mitigation of the hazard.
* Has a strong working knowledge of all civil aviation guidelines relevant to BASH control and reduction procedures including, but not limited to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document, Airport Services Manual - Part 3 (Wildlife Control and Reduction).
* Receives and executes technical guidance and direction regarding the operation, maintenance, and repair of BASH equipment.
* Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
* 1-3 years of direct experience working as a Technician/Specialist in support of BASH operations.
* Ability to pass basic physical and background checks sufficient for duty in an overseas contingency/military environment.
* PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
* Prior USAF experience working as a member of BASH services team at a USAF air base.
* Previous experience working in BASH services/operations in the Middle East; preferably Iraq, Afghanistan, or a similar location.
* Working knowledge of both FAA, ICAO, and DOD policies, procedures, and regulations governing BASH operations.
* Working Conditions
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
* Physical Requirements
* Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
