Job Summary: The Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely billing and invoicing. This role involves a variety of tasks, including generating invoices, processing payments, and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of billing and accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:

* Generate accurate and timely invoices.
* Process payments and apply them to the correct accounts.
* Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
* Maintain accurate records of billing and payment transactions.
* Assist with month-end close procedures.
* Stay up-to-date on billing regulations and industry standards.
* Utilize billing software to generate reports and analyze data.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate billing.
* Assist others in department as needed.

Qualifications:

Skills

* Strong organizational skills
* Strong communication skills
* Must be a self-starter
* Experience with AIA pay applications (G702/G703).
* Computer/typing skills - Microsoft Excel
* Ability to prioritize tasks to meet internal and external customer deadlines
* Handle stress of high-pressure deadlines
* Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Accounting knowledge

Education, experience, certifications

* High School Diploma
* One - three years of related experience
* Working toward a Finance or Accounting degree preferred.

Physical and mental demands

* Lifting maximum of 50 lbs.

Working Conditions (if applicable)

* Prolonged hours in front of computer
* Prolonged hours sitting at desk
