Our world-class training will prepare you for the job! What is Behavior Support? Behavior Support performs a variety of tasks related to the care of clients served by Damar. What would I be doing? Some duties include client supervision and care, crisis management, promoting appropriate social behaviors, and supporting clients in achieving their maximum potential. Where would I work with clients? For this particular role, you could work on our Children's Residential campus located at 6067 Decatur Boulevard in Indianapolis. What are the hours? * 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm / weekend rotation every 3rd week) * 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm / weekend rotation every 3rd week) * 3rd shift (11:00 pm -7:30 am / rotating weekends) * Weekend (7:00 am - 11:00 pm / Sat & Sun) *Can pick up an optional 8 hour shift Monday-Friday (* Preferred shift may not be available at time of application.) We pay for experience and education! * Eligible for the Damar Advantage including discounts at Damar Health Services and Damar Pharmacy * Comprehensive training in verbal intervention and physical management techniques * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance options * Up to $3,000 per year in Tuition Assistance * Save for your retirement with our 401(k) Plan Participation * Take care of loved ones through our Damar provided Life Insurance and additional voluntary options * Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance options * Paid Holidays to spend time with loved ones * Paid Time Off (PTO) for rest and renewal Responsibilities: Remarkable ways you will be making a difference: * Effectively respond to and manage crisis situations * Consistently implement behavior management plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors * Promote and assist with the development of daily living, self-help and social skills * Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment * Conduct and supervise recreational and life enrichment activities * Complete required documentation daily, in a professional manner Qualifications: What you need to be considered: * Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program however, we have Direct Support Professional roles for those between 18-21 so we encourage you to apply for the Direct Support Technician role if you are not 21 or over * Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED * Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving) * Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions * Successfully complete a pre-employment physical * Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening Essential Job Functions: Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. #DSCARE
