Overview:
Performs bed assignments based upon established protocols, patient diagnosis, physician specialty and service and bed support availability. Ensures that clinical areas are notified timely of patients needing placement, keeps delays to a minimum. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of service and specialty lines, ensures that bed placement complies with departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
* Education:High School or GED required. 2 Year Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred.
* Experience: 1 Year Patient access, registration, billing, cash collections, insurance and/or pre-registration, or related experience in a medical environment. Experience with patient placement, medical assisting (medical assistant) or familiarity with clinical services in an acute care setting required.
* Licensure/Certification: Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred.
