Overview: BATTERY SYSTEMS ENGINEER (2024-21913): Bowhead seeks a System Engineer to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Power, Energy & Interconnect Technology Division (JXM). The System Engineer shall assist with next generation submarine battery development data analysis an also provide quality assurance services for vendors. Responsibilities: Essential functions will include: * Creating System Qualification Test Plans, Performance Test Plans, Safety/Hazard Characterization Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports * Execute (or oversee a team to execute) the tests at NSWC Crane and Expeditionary Battery fielded system locations and battery vendor sites * Conduct Field Integration and Operational Check-out through Initial Operating Capability, perform periodic Field Maintenance on large batteries. * Perform Reliability Analyses and Safety Engineering processes on systems. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required with five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience. * Experience with Navy manned and unmanned underwater systems * Understanding of system engineering, as applied to the range of energy storage devices such as batteries, fuel cells, and other devices and systems energy storage and power systems * Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. * Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Physical Demands: * Must be able to stand, sit and walk for prolonged amounts of time * Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level, however candidates who currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level are highly sought. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at these locations. #LI-KM1
