As a Barista you will, Shift: Varies Pay: $15 per hour plus tips (Average $20 per hour including hourly wage) Responsibilities: * Provides excellent guest service while making quality, hand-crafted beverages * Responsible for educating guests about our premium coffees, teas, gelatos, and menu items. * Prepares and sells coffee drinks, such as espresso, café latte, and cappuccino, by following recipes and preparation techniques. * Operates electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for transaction payments; transports monies to and from the main Credit cage. * Delivers guest orders. * Ensures guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responds to guest complaints. * Maintains equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing cleaning and preventive maintenance. * Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well stocked, while continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products. * Maintains a clean and welcoming dining room with attention to detail, sanitation, and safety. * Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. * Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters. Qualifications: * Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. * Previous cash handling and customer service experience required. * Coffee knowledge preferred. * Ability to communicate effectively with others; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. * Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. * Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. * Previous Food & Beverage experience preferred. * Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Previous Starbucks/barista experience an asset. * Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues. * Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs dictate.
