Reports To: Bakery Department Manager

Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
As a Festival Foods Bakery Bench Hand, you will:
* Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it's a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you'll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.
* Production Excellence: Follow recipes and production lists precisely to produce high-quality pastry and bakery items. Ensure attention to dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and meet high-quality standards.
* Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in baker prep areas, ensuring all surfaces, tools, and equipment are clean and organized. Adhere to Health Department guidelines and Festival Foods sanitation and safety practices, including proper glove use.
* Inventory and Stock Management: Oversee items on the sales floor, making decisions on what needs to be produced to ensure coverage for the evening. Keep cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas clean and organized.
* Offer Assistance: Provide excellent foodservice and customer service by assisting guests with finding items, taking and executing special orders, and addressing any concerns or issues with products.
* Food Safety: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by designated times.
* Support: Assist all bakery associates with daily responsibilities and contribute to overall cleanliness and organization of the department.
* Teamwork: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed as a Festival Foods Bakery Bench Hand, you should have:
* Experience and Skills: Ability to effectively deal with guests and all personnel, with a strong understanding of baking and pastry production. Knowledge of foodservice operations is essential.
* Safety Knowledge: Follow all safety requirements and company safety policies, with proper training and knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures, including ovens, mixers, and slicing machinery.

Work Schedule:
The Bakery Bench Hand is a position that may be part-time or full-time. The work schedule generally includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to work evenings or overnight as needed.

Qualifications:
Job Title: Bakery Bench Hand
Reports To: Bakery Department Manager
Under the direction of the Bakery Department Manager, responsible for working closely with all Bakery associates in an effort to keep the bakery department stocked and full of fresh product.
Creativity in the form of food is the name of the game in our Bakery; Festival's bakery associates are here to enhance the special moments and occasions in our guest's lives by providing a fun & fresh bakery assortment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Recipe & Production control
* Recipes and production lists are explicitly followed
* Attention to dates and freshness of every product
* Proper shrink reporting and handling on outdated items
* Ensures high quality standards are met in all items produced
* Adherence to all Health Department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices
* Cleanliness of Baker prep areas
* All areas and surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized at all times
* Proper glove use with all associates
* Pans, dishes, and other tools are clean and organized
* Keep cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas clean and organized
* Must be food safe certified
* Watches over items on the sales floor
* Keeps an eye on service floor, deciding what potentially needs to be made to ensure proper coverage for the evening
* Provides excellent services to all guests
* Assists guests with finding items they are looking for on and off the sales floor
* Takes and execute special orders and requests
* Addresses guest concerns with prep and kitchen made items, and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
* Required to maintain food safety logs
* Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
* Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform the essential functions.
* Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
* Follow all safety requirements and company safety policies
* Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: ovens, mixers, slicing and packaging machinery, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor and baler usage
