Responsibilities:
* Provide for a secure work environment for all personnel in the Stable Area.
* Constantly be alert for any safety concerns that may jeopardize the wellbeing of any persons or animals on the property.
* Protect against any potential loss or damage.
* Requires vigilant observation, accurate reporting, adherence to all policy directives.
* Maintain a conspicuous presence at controlled entry points and during routine patrols.
* Required to manually monitor all activity in assigned area of responsibility, as well as the immediate surroundings.
* Responsible for the reporting of incidents that are suspicious in nature.
* Assignment to the Backside will perform regular safety patrols throughout the entire Stable Area each shift and note any unusual incidents or hazards encountered and the actions taken to address or correct each incident.
* Utilize the Security Vehicle and provide detailed foot patrol in an effort to ensure compliance with all Stable Area Rules, as well as to maintain a highly visible presence.
* Constantly be alert for any condition that presents a safety hazard to persons or horses on property, or otherwise impedes the safe operation of all fire suppression systems available as well as the routine conduct of daily business operation.
* Any safety concerns discovered will be immediately abated using any means necessary. Officers will correct any condition they themselves can address; if the condition exists in a barn and a Trainer is responsible, the Trainer will be instructed to correct the condition immediately.
* Issues or conditions that are the responsibility of HGMV will be brought to the attention of the Facilities department or any other contracted service provider as appropriate to address serious physical issues. All such incidents will be documented by the responding Officer - routine non-emergency incidents will be recorded on the Daily Activity Log, while more serious incidents will be documented in the form of an Incident Report.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming's auto insurance carrier.
