				Overview:

The Psychiatry Consult-Liaison (CL) Clinician facilitates assessment and assists with the management of psychiatric and/or behavioral health concerns occurring within primary psychiatric and general medical conditions, in collaboration with other NCH medical specialties.

Responsibilities:

*  Facilitates culturally appropriate diagnostic assessments, lethality screens, or other appropriate mental health evaluations.

*  Provides brief interventions, care coordination, safety planning, or other therapeutic interventions to assigned patients.

*  Recommends disposition for least restrictive level of care, utilizing case consultation, supervision and staffing as appropriate.

*  Employs NCH approved strategies of crisis intervention and de-escalation that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.

*  Initiates mandatory reporting of abuse and/or neglect to Child Protective Services or other applicable agencies per Ohio law.

*  Facilitates and/or participates in safety care huddles, treatment team meetings, or other appropriate interdisciplinary meetings related to patient care.

*  Facilitates training to staff and providers of NCH approved crisis management training and de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications:

Education: Masters from an accredited university or professional school.

Licensure: Appropriate Ohio counseling (LPC) or social work (LSW) licensure required; independent licensure preferred.

Certifications: Upon hire, must complete and pass NCH endorsed Crisis Management Training.

Skills:

*  Demonstrated skills in providing behavioral health assessment and treatment to children and adolescents.

*  Ability to work well with minimal direction, is detail-oriented and self-motivated.

*  Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain productive and collaborative team and multi-disciplinary relationships.

*  Advanced knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare preferred.

Experience:

*  Experience with training or instruction in group settings preferred.

*  Previous experience in working with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

* Previous experience working with children and adolescents with severe acute and/or chronic physical illness and disabilities preferred.
