				Overview:

The School-Based Behavioral Health Therapist I is responsible for the provision of trauma-informed and culturally responsive patient-and family-centered care, including clinical assessment, evidenced-based behavioral health treatment, case management, care coordination, and crisis management and stabilization of children, adolescents, and their families in partnership with schools. In addition, the School-Based Behavioral Health Therapist I engages in prevention and early intervention activities to promote positive school climate and culture, and the mental health and wellness of students and staff.

Briggs High School and Hilltonia Middle School

Responsibilities:

*  Provides clinical assessment, and treatment services utilizing evidence-based modalities (i.e., CBT, Family Therapy, MI, CBITS, DBT in Schools, etc.)

*  Provides prevention and early intervention individual and group services utilizing evidence-based modalities (i.e., CBT, Family-Informed Care, MI, CBITS, DBT in Schools, PAX, SOS, etc.)

*  Provides crisis management and stabilization services utilizing risk assessment and safety planning to maintain students in their natural environment or refer to higher level of care.

*  Provides case management or care coordination services with other youth serving agencies, service providers, and community resources to facilitate continuity of care and address social influences of health and education.

*  Provides integrated care in collaboration with psychiatry and school-based health services providers, as well as social-emotional learning and student support services team members.

*  Completes timely clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork and tasks in accordance with policy standards.

*  Participates in activities designed to foster professional development and clinical excellence to reach best outcomes (i.e., supervision, consultations, trainings, peer reviews, precepting, etc.).

Qualifications:

Education: 
*  Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited university in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Licensure:

*  LSW, LPC, or MFT required.

*  Must maintain driver's license, reliable transportation, and have both an acceptable driving record and automobile insurance, with acceptable coverage for business driving/transporting of consumers, in accordance with NCH policies.

Skills:

*  Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing and managing mental and behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families.

*  Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers, school staff, and community representatives.

*  Ability to engage in collaborative and concurrent documentation.

*  Familiarity with software such as Epic EMR, MyChart, and Microsoft Office Software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Experience:

*  Minimum of one year of trauma-informed mental and behavioral health work or internship experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families, preferred.

*  Minimum of one year of social-emotional learning and/or mental and behavioral health work or internship experience in schools, preferred.

*  Minimum of one year of work or internship experience collaborating with community partners and youth serving agencies, preferred.
