Overview:
BCYF's mission is to strengthen Boston youth and families in their pursuit of success through meaningful relationships, essential programs, and vital community resources.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop job readiness and workplace skills.
- Assist with completing resumes, job applications, and preparing for interviews.
- Attend scheduled program activities and engage in discussions that support personal and professional growth.
- Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks during job placements or hands-on learning experiences.
- Work with mentors or program staff to set goals, track progress, and receive feedback.
- Use available resources such as job search tools, transportation support, or educational materials to support career development.
Qualifications:
- Our youth employment program offers opportunities for young people to gain the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary for success.
- The program helps youth develop the abilities and training needed to transition into adulthood and careers.
- Youth participants play an integral role in the delivery of our program.
- Preferred qualifications for junior counselors include:
- A strong work ethic
- Dependability
- Leadership skills
- Ability to interact positively with large groups of children
- Previous experience working with summer camps or out-of-school-time programs is also preferred.
