Overview:
AmTrust Specialty Programs, a division of AmTrust North America, is a market-leading insurance carrier with more than 20 years of experience developing and growing profitable delegated authority programs in partnership with select Managing General Agents. As a result of persistent, profitable growth within this division, AmTrust is looking to add Business Development Representative/Specialist/Associate to their team.
Provide administrative support to the Business Development team regarding the triage process for new program submissions as well as monitoring email correspondence and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
This position will ideally report on a hybrid basis into one of the following locations: Southington, CT; New York, NY; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX
Responsibilities:
* Triage and organize program submissions, via submission data room. Escalate appropriate accounts as appropriate to leadership.
* Maintain records in Business Development SharePoint Site including the management of industry events, market intelligence reporting, public information on M&A, partner management and preferences.
* Coordinating with other departments both within Specialty programs and AmTrust such as: operations, underwriting, actuarial, marketing and event planning.
* Assisting the team with lead generation efforts by improving brand visibility and team response time.
* Helping the team to improve their productivity by arranging appointments and ensuring the team has high-quality, up-to-date support material.
* Handling urgent calls, emails, and messages when leadership is unavailable, answering customer queries, informing them of delays, and scheduling marketing events.
* Ensure a successful representation of AmTrust Specialty Programs at industry conferences by maintaining team calendar and partnering with internal event planning team to drive awareness and attendance to company sponsored events.
* Assist in creation of branded marketing materials, group orders, approved external messaging and event coordination.
* Collaborating with other departments to ensure sales, marketing, queries, and deliveries are handled efficiently.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial lines property and casualty insurance industry; experience in commercial insurance programs is a plus.
* Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up in a timely manner.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
* Maintains strong working knowledge of company products and services.
* Excellent business sense and judgment.
* Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
* Approximately 5-10% travel required.
