Job Summary:
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. This includes supervising the field labor force, monitoring costs, conducting inspections, managing schedules, and managing internal/external relationships, while also maintaining a safe, injury-free environment. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force.
* Inspection of Contractor or (Sub)Contract operations to ensure compliance with Contract.
* Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Superintendent / Project Manager.
* Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer.
* Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Superintendent / Project Manager.
* Conduct quality inspections.
* Monitor costs, including labor time and material.
* Communicate and enforce Skanska Safety and Health Management Program.
* Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others.
* Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates.
* Prepare and submit Superintendent's Daily Reports.
* Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
* As an Assistant Superintendent on an active construction site, this position requires regular and consistent on-site attendance to monitor and observe construction operations and participate in scheduled and ad hoc production, safety, and supervisory meetings.

Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years of proven construction experience.
* 3+ years' experience administering safety and QC policies with the ability to learn the Skanska Safety and QAQC Culture.
* 1+ year assisting with the oversite of subcontractors.
* 1+ year working with schedule milestones and look ahead schedules.
* 1+ year assisting with job site logistics and management.
* 1+ year tracking CO's and tickets.
* 1+ year working with plans and specs.
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management/Engineering or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Preferred Procore Construction Management certification.
* Preferred experience with broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within electrical construction.
* Preferred CMIT certificate.
* Working knowledge of design and drawing software to including, but not limited to, Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, NAVIA, and Bluebeam.
* Working knowledge of BIM 360 and BIM 360 Plan.
* Working knowledge of Prolog and Primavera P6.
* Experience with JD Edwards for timekeeping, project costs, and other project financials.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience utilizing email, phone, and Microsoft office platforms.
* Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
Competencies / Skills:
Has a basic understanding of:
* Logistics: Develops, approves, and communicates construction logistics plans, verifying they are in place and clearly understood. Ensures that projects are proceeding according to these plans.
* Quality Management - Field Management Building: Develops project-specific quality control plan, following Skanska quality control processes and ensuring overall quality of the project. Monitors work practices to identify concerns or issues that do not meet these quality standards. Follows contract provisions for necessary corrective action.
* Safety: Ensures the safe execution of all work activities and ensures adherence to our safety regulations to protect all individuals. Verifies and coordinates work activities to comply with Skanska EHS program and corrects unsafe activities, actions, and conditions.
* Subcontractor Certifications: Ensures that subcontractors have necessary insurance and contract requirements in place prior to beginning work.
* Subcontractor Oversight: Monitors, inspects, and ensures subcontractors are performing the work safely, are adhering to schedule, and are producing quality work in line with subcontractor agreements and our client contract obligations.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
