FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt  

Employment Status: Full time 

Job Summary:  

The Assistant Project Accountant assists and supports the project accountant and project team by maintaining accurate and complete accounting records.  The position works under direct supervision and gathers and distributes information.  The Assistant Project Accountant must be a team player and have strong organizational and accounting skills.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

* Assist with preparation and submission of invoices for assigned project 

* Assist with review and process of subcontractor applications of payment and general condition invoices for payment  

* Data entry, including owner billings, subcontracts, change orders and purchase orders. 

* Payment of general payables 

* Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients  

* Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health Management Program

Education and Experience:  

Required Qualifications:  

* General understanding of General Accepted Accounting Practices and cost accounting 

* Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products. 

* Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

* Construction accounting experience, JD Edwards / Procore Experience 

* Excel proficiency 

Competencies / Skills: Not available as of this time.

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%  

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
