As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department's daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:

* Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. 
* Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
* Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
* Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.

* Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
* Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
* Support professional development to improve employee retention.

**Previous OR experience required**

**Circulating/Scrub experience across multiple services required**

Day to Day:

* Assist with the day-to-day operations of the unit.
*  Support the Charge Nurse and the surgical teams. 
* Direct oversight of associates to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and nursing practice. 
* Coach  the staff to build confidence and encourage professional growth. 
* Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/ practices for department associates. 
* Model professionalism and leadership within the department.
*  Accountable to the Manager and Director for surgical benchmarks such as turnover times and first case on time starts.
*  Will have approx. 25 direct reports.
*  Responsibilities may include conducting training for  Clinical Coordinators, Charge RNs, and staff members. 
* Oversight of the staff schedule and call schedule. 
* Might also be needed to fill occasional gaps in staffing. 
* Will also be used on occasion to help out in the rest of the OR.
* Assist with schedules and Pay Roll 
* Occurrence  Report Follow up

17 OR Suites including 1 trauma room, a hybrid Room, Designated CVOR and a Cystoscopy Suite

450-500+ cases per month

Schedule- Full Time-  40hrs/ week- Variable schedule per surgical volume and needs of unit- typically 5x8hrs. 

No call required but may need to fill in on occasion to cover for team if need arises. Leadership call is expected for all leaders 

This position will also be eligible for the Clinical Ladder

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified Assistant Nurse Manager candidates will need the following:

* 2 years clinical RN experience
* 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
* A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
* Current RN License to practice in state of employment 
* Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc. 
* Nursing Specialty Certification:
* Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
*  Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
