Unit Overview:

The Nampa Women's and NICU unit is very unique unit that focuses on Family Centered Care. The uniqueness of this unit offers 14 LDRP beds, 7 paired with NICU, 2 OR's and 4 Triage rooms, averaging 100 deliveries per month. In addition, our unit offers 8 NICU suites. We have highly trained and committed staff and providers in this unit. We focus on providing excellent patient centered care, achieved through education, expertise and teamwork in a safe and positive environment of our patients, their families and ourselves.

Position Overview:

We're seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to help lead and support our nursing team. In this role, you'll manage daily operations, guide staff development, and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
* Experience: 3 years nursing experience required; L&D or LDRP preferred
* Licenses/Certifications: RN license and BLS certification required
* Helpful Skills/Knowledge: 
* Strong leadership and organizational skills
* Commitment to best practices and patient-centered care
* Experience resolving conflict and guiding team development
* Knowledge of hospital regulations and nursing protocols
* Epic and TASS (time keeping/scheduling) experience

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, developing and engaging staff on designated unit or units based on size, ensuring best practice are followed with adherence to established policies and procedures.

* Accountable for achieving harm index, compliance to evidence-based protocols, patient safety, HCAPS, rounding, vacancy, turnover, productivity, overtime, expense, work place safety and staff engagement performance metrics.
* Makes staff assignments to align with staff competencies to ensure appropriate patient care and actively manages staff each shift.  Works with Nursing Manager and Staffing Office to determine staffing needs.
* Provides guidance, mentoring, coaching and development of staff, and ensures execution of action plans to improve staff development and employee engagement. Works with staff to promote resolution of conflicts and counsels staff when clinical practice standards are not met.
* Assists in the hiring and onboarding process, as well as contributes to performance evaluations and staff management, as delegated by the Nursing Manager.
* Provides increased leadership visibility through actively engaging in real-time patient rounding, to support coaching and mentoring of the patient care team.
* Initiate and foster continuous improvement within department. Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues and complaints.
* Ensure compliance with regulations governing hospitals/area/service and practice/area/ service. Ensure that policy, procedures and standards are developed, implemented and maintained.
* Ensures communication of program priorities, policies, and procedures across team to ensure consistent patient experience and optimal outcomes.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing
* Experience: 3 years nursing experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License required and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
