Responsibilities:

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM)
functions collaboratively and uses independent judgment to provide high quality care by assuring
appropriate staffing on a shift basis or more as indicated by patient acuity and census. Is accountable
for unit operations, supervision, staff development, patient care delivery and clinical outcomes on
assigned shifts. Is responsible for providing clinical nursing leadership to unit staff and may provide
direct patient care.

* Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
* Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
* Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
* Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

* Registered Nurse with one (1) to two (2) years of work experience. 
* Labor & Delivery /Obstetrics experience.
* Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license. 
* Current CPR and NRP certification - May obtain within 30 days of hire date.
* Basic Fetal Monitoring Certificate presented upon hire; or for new graduates achieved within the Orientation Process.
* Completion of an Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course within 2 years of employment. This certificate must be maintained.
* BSN is preferred.
