Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) department at St. Anthony Hospital is a 24-bed ICU for patients with varied medical and surgical treatment needs. This includes recovering patients after open heart surgery and aortic repair. Cardiac devices include, but not limited to, Intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Patients with severe sepsis, abdominal surgery, acute respiratory diseases are also cared for within CSICU. Our associates work in a collaborative environment with multiple specialty providers and interventionalists. Our CSICU nurses actively use critical thinking while building on their skills. CSICU has developed multiple pathways to continually enrich and empower our associates.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department's daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:
* Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
* Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
* Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
* Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
* Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
* Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
* Support professional development to improve employee retention.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
* 2 years clinical RN experience
* 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
* A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required
* High School GED required
* RN License to practice in Colorado or Kansas as applicable
* BLS from the American Heart Association required
* ACLS from the American Heart Association required
* TCAR required within 6 months of hire
* NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
* Additional Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
* Appropriate facility identified national certification within one year of becoming ANM strongly preferred.
* Credential: ANM-ANCC Approved.
* Clinical and/or Leadership Certification strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
