Job Summary:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the maintenance operations of Xanterra's facilities in Gardiner, MT, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Roosevelt Lodge area facilities within Xanterra's land assignment and reports directly to the Mammoth Hot Springs Maintenance Manager. This year-round role involves supervising staff, coordinating repairs, ensuring safety and sustainability compliance, and maintaining operational efficiency across all assets and systems. The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: To be discussed during interview
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
* Assist the Maintenance Manager in the supervision and management of all location maintenance employees.
* Provide the administrative, physical, and technical skills necessary for year-round troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operation of Xanterra's facilities, equipment, and assets.
* Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, management, support, and leadership of maintenance staff consisting of both year-round and seasonal employees.
* Coordinate and provide proactive, timely and accurate information to maintenance staff, location Operations managers, Engineering staff, outside contractors, other concessioners, and the National Park Service.
* Ensure maintenance and facility operations are accomplished by staff and contractors in a safe, environmentally responsible, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Respond to maintenance requests by all location departments, as well as work designated by the Maintenance Manager and Engineering personnel, as directed, with a spirit of cooperation.
* Document preventive and corrective maintenance including labor, materials, asset records and inventory records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
* Use the appropriate tools and materials needed for the completion of work orders in a safe and efficient manner.
* Promote a safe, clean, healthy, respectful, and cooperative work environment.
* Communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with a polite demeanor and professional appearance.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently with limited supervision, and willing to occasionally work overtime and/or nights.
* Support and adhere to Xanterra's sustainability and safety programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience required; familiarity with Maximo preferred.
* Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
* CPR and First Aid Certification (current and valid).
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving work environment.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or people management role.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
* Willingness to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and varied shifts.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
* Advanced knowledge of facility maintenance and operations; hospitality industry experience preferred.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
* Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
* Familiarity with OSHA General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926) standards.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Physical Requirements include:
* Must be able to wear respiratory protection and comply with related medical screening requirements.
* Capable of walking long distances over uneven terrain and climbing stairs/ladders in all weather conditions.
* Able to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and crawling for extended periods.
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
* Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a safe driving record for the past 3 years.
* Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
