Overview: Reports to: Program Director, COMPASS @ PS 32 Location: 420 Union Street, Brooklyn, New York 11231 Hours: Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt Salary: $16.50/hr Major Duties: * Assist the Group Leader and Activity Instructors with activities, including sports and recreation, educational activities and arts and craft. * Collaborate with Group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment. * Collect attendance folder and other data. * Work with After School Program Supervisor, Group Leader, or other designated Supervisor in carrying out special activities of the program. * Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED preferred. * Prior experience working with children strongly preferred. * Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with peers and participants. * Demonstrated verbal, organization, and prioritization skills. * Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and working as part of a team.
