				Overview:

The Assistant Group Leader will be responsible for the overall leadership, planning and implementation of an after-school group for K-12 youth, including integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group building activities.

Reports to:    Program Director, PS/MS15-291

Location:       2195 Andrews Avenue, Bronx, New York 10453

Hours:           18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt 

SALARY:        $16.50/hr

Major Duties:

* Assist the group leader with activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft and special events. 
* Collect attendance folder and other data. 
* Distribute lunches and snacks and assist with clean-up. 
* Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program. 
* Support activity instructor with lessons. 

Qualifications: 

* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youth.  
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
* Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.   
* Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
