Overview: JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned enrichment and recreational activities for after school program Brooklyn. TITLE: Assistant Group Leader After School at The Brooklyn Scholars Charter School REPORTS TO: Program Director LOCATION: 2635 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11208 HOURS: Up to 18 Hours Per Week: Non-Exempt Salary: $16.50/hr MAJOR DUTIES: Assist with all lessons and activities, including sports and recreation, educational support and arts and craft. Work with after-school program staff in carrying out special activities for the program. Monitor and supervise youth participants, reinforcing the rules of the program. Manage relevant materials and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years old. Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and enthusiasm and active observation, and ability to work with other youths. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment are necessary. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
