Overview:
The Assistant Golf Professional provides the highest level of customer service to all course visitors, and maintains the golf shop in an appealing manner while on shift. The Assistant Pro is responsible for the onboarding, training, and management of all cart attendants.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Director of Golf, Head Golf professional, Merchandiser, and Tournament Coordinator in the manner in which they request.
* Display Conduct in an appropriate manner at all times in accordance with the Omni Hotels and the PGA of America.
* Teaches clinics and private lessons, promoting lesson opportunities to increase revenue and drive interest in the sport
* Conducts and facilitates departmental OST meetings, in collaboration for Head Pro and Dir. of Golf
* Initiate and promote golf activities for guests and members of the resort.
* Render professional advice, opinions, assistance and services as required.
* Perform duties and meet requirements for sales, rentals, tournament golf leagues, and services which the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional deems necessary.
* May be enrolled in the GPTP or have a Class A PGA membership.
* Promotes the interests of the resort in providing services to guests and members.
* Opens and closes the golf shop, additionally managing the rental club inventory
* Act as the MOD in the absence of the Professional Staff.
* Manage sales, player services and the pace of play when on duty.
* Enforce all the facility rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf cars, and other golf facilities.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in golf shop merchandising, and tournament operations.
* Previous experience in golf operations at The Omni Homestead Resort, either Cascades or Old Course (strongly preferred)
* Must posses strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
* Previous cash handling experience.
* Must have general golf knowledge.
* College degree, GPTP or Class A membership in good standing with the PGA.
* The ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during high-volume seasons.
