Architect (Power BI Developer)

				Overview:

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Power BI Developer/Architect to support the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This is a remote position for candidates residing in Pennsylvania, with occasional on-site work (at least one day per month) at the client's location as required. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to statewide data modernization initiatives in a collaborative public health environment.

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, test, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data products.
* Develop and implement solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
* Collaborate with EDW teams, business analysts, DBAs, and stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
* Analyze and translate business requirements into optimized data models and data flows.
* Plan, organize, and manage work efforts, tracking progress against agreed timelines.
* Create report specifications and graphic representations of complex business processes.
* Participate in requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder reviews.
* Present solutions and progress to internal and external stakeholder groups.
* Ensure compliance with relevant federal and commonwealth standards and procedures.
* Participate in project documentation and status reporting (PeopleFluent/VectorVMS, Daptiv, SharePoint).

Qualifications:

* More than 5 years of relevant experience as a Power BI Developer/Architect.
* Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI and DAX for complex data visualizations.
* Strong proficiency with SQL Server, T-SQL, complex queries, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
* Experience with relational databases, star schema, data warehousing, and data modeling.
* Demonstrated experience in data profiling, cleansing, quality analysis, and transformation.
* Proficiency with analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel and SAS statistical software.
* Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences effectively.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills with minimal supervision.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced study preferred.
