				Overview:

This Position is Physically Located in Iraq, Balad

Under supervision of the Appliance Technician Supervisor and/or Manager, responsible for a team of Appliance Technicians that installs, services, and repairs stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools and test equipment, and following wiring diagrams and manufacturers' specifications. Connects appliances to power sources and test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter, or voltmeter; observes readings on meters and graphic recorders; examines appliances during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts; and disassembles appliances to examine mechanical and electrical parts. Traces electrical circuits, following diagrams and locates shorts and grounds using ohmmeter, calibrates timers, thermostats; adjusts contact points; and cleans and washes parts using wire brushes, buffers, and solvent to remove carbon, grease, and dust. Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring; repairs and adjusts appliance motors; reassembles appliances; adjusts pulleys; and lubricates moving parts using hand tools and lubricating equipment.

Responsibilities:

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

* Installs, services, and repairs washers and dryers, using hand tools and test equipment, and following wiring diagrams and manufacturers' specifications.
* Connects appliances to power sources and test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter, or voltmeter; observes readings on meters and graphic recorders; examines appliances during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts; and disassembles appliances to examine mechanical and electrical parts.

Qualifications:

* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* High School Graduate or equivalent
* Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal
* Host Country Driver's License is required.

* Experience:
* Four (4) years of experience of civilian or military experience in commercial appliance repair or equivalent combination of education and experience

* OCN Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
* Four (4) years of appliance repair technical experience.

* Skills:
* Must read, write, and speak English fluently

* Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the assigned Appliance Technician Personnel

* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

* Physical Requirements:
* Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
