Overview:
The Antenna Technician II is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and certification of fixed and semi-fixed antenna structures and associated components. This role ensures tower and antenna reliability, safety compliance, and optimal communication system performance. Work is performed in accordance with Air Force standards, technical manuals, and engineering directives.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement an inspection and maintenance program for antenna and tower structures, ensuring compliance at a 98% minimum performance rate.
* Inspect tower structural integrity, including full-height inspection of antenna tower support systems, radomes, mounting hardware, grounding systems, safety climbs, and related structures.
* Inspect and certify Lightning Mitigation Systems (LMS) for operational effectiveness; repair deficiencies within 2 working days.
* Perform inspections and maintenance IAW AFI 32-2001, AFMAN 32-1065, UFC 3-535-01, and other applicable guidance.
* Maintain aircraft safety warning lights and associated systems; replace outages within 24 hours at least 98% of the time, except during inclement weather.
* Conduct corrosion control and routine replacement of antenna and tower components on a quarterly basis, with additional inspections or repairs as directed.
* Perform maintenance and repairs on antennas mounted on or attached to facilities and other structures.
* Report facility grounding inspection results in accordance with MIL-HDBK-419A.
* Maintain climbing gear and ensure all personnel are climbing certified in accordance with SLD 45 Safety or other applicable standards.
* Support and document all maintenance activity below depot-level; coordinate depot-level needs through appropriate channels.
* Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor, COR, or Contracting Officer.

Education Requirement:
* Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
* Preferred: Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience:
* Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in antenna and tower inspection and maintenance, including high-climb operations.
Certifications:
* Certified Tower Climber (ComTrain, NATE, or equivalent)
* Current CPR/First Aid certification
* Fall Protection training and certification
Technical Knowledge:
* Familiarity with military and commercial communication systems
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical orders
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to climb and work at elevated heights regularly
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions

Additional Information:
* Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
* Must adhere to all safety procedures and site access requirements.
* Duty uniforms and climbing equipment must meet safety and compliance standards.
