Overview:
The Advanced EMT provides high quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups, primarily in a non-emergent setting. Patient care will be consistent with approved treatment protocols. The Advanced EMT communicates and coordinates the patient's care in an interdisciplinary model.
Qualifications:
Education: High School or GED required. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience with a paid emergency services provider, preferred. Two years licensed driving experience, required.
Licensure/Certification:
* Current North Carolina Advanced EMT (EMT-Intermediate prior to 2017), required
* BCLS, required
* ACLS, PALS and ITLS or PHTLS, preferred
Additional Skills/Requirements (required)
* Current and valid driver's license required and must meet the requirements of the medical center's insurance carrier.
* Must meet general hospital driving requirements.
* Annual EVO education is required to drive during emergency situations.
* Must be 19 years of age with zero points on driving record.
