				Overview:

The Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiter will connect youth who wait for permanent homes with families who wish to adopt by implementing and coordinating effective recruitment, matching and support services for an active caseload of 12-15 youth. The recruiter will use the Child Focused Recruitment Model to assess youth and identify permanent resources, and facilitate the adoption process for primarily older children with mental health disorders; who are part of sibling groups, with previously failed adoption efforts; with special needs; and who have lingered in foster care.

Title: ADOPTION RECRUITER, FAMILY FOSTER CARE

Reports to: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, FAMILY FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION SERVICES

Location: 7 West Burnside Ave, Bronx, New York 10453

Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt. This position requires in office hours. Hybrid schedules are based on program needs and at leadership discretion. 

Salary Range: 50k-55k Annually Based on relevant experience and education 

Major Duties:

* Works in partnership with staff from the Family Foster Care, Treatment Family Foster Care and Residential programs to identify older youth and recruit potential adoptive families
* Review the case record and interview child/youth, case planner and any available family members to create a genogram to assist in the recruitment process.
* Develop an initial written assessment describing the youth's understanding and feelings about adoption.
* Network with other program staff, ACS, and other resources to locate positive connections for the youth
* Create specialized recruitment plans for the youth.
* Meet with the youth and case planner on a monthly basis to review the progress of the recruitment plan
* Work in conjunction with the Homefinding Department to conduct adoptive home studies for families matched with youth.
* Meet with family members and supportive connections to discuss the progress of locating permanent resources for the youth.
* Work with the youth and the adoptive resource to ensure preplacement visits are implemented
* Develop, coordinate and facilitate the transition plan with youth and family. Work with youth and family during the transition process to ensure positive outcomes
* Monitor the placement in the adoptive home and work with adoptive family to ensure permanency is achieved.
* Work in conjunction with Adoption Coordinator to ensure that the adoptive family is working toward adoption finalization.
* Attend educational opportunities provided by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption including, but not limited to: classroom training, online modules, database training, webinars, and the Wendy's Wonderful Kids Summit hosted by the Foundation
* Submit monthly data regarding the caseload as well as quarterly assessments of the youths' readiness for adoption and recruitment plans
* Travel to local and out of state events required
* Effectively use Trauma Informed Practice in program service delivery
* Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with two years post graduate direct experience required.
* Experience in the foster care and adoption field (preferred)
* Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
* Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and cultivate relationships
* Expertise in providing family support/excellent customer service
* Computer literacy and efficiency with MS Office software
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Bilingual (Spanish) Required 
* Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
