Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. Responsibilities:
In keeping with the Dignity Health philosophy, the Administrative Intern will work under the direct supervision of an assigned Department Director. Tasks are specific to assigned department and under the direction of the department director. The Administrative Intern will be assigned to a specific department in the facility. Departmental assignments include the following: Construction and Leases, Contracts, Human Resources, Health Centers, Marketing, Communications, and Business Development and Strategy.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must demonstrate interest in a variety of non-clinical areas of Healthcare Administration.
* Completion of post high school education.
* Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others
* Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
* Demonstrates clear, effective, written and oral English skills, and objective active listening skills.
* Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergencies.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff.
* Must be proficient in the use of office equipment (copy machine, fax, scanning). Experience using MS Office Suite products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access).
* Demonstrates working knowledge of hospital safety policies and health standards.
* Ability to follow written and oral instructions in exact detail.
Preferred Skills:
* Current enrollment in accredited College and/or University Associate and/or Bachelors degree program.
