Job description:
* The Adjutant Chaplain is a medical team clinician who supports a facility's Spiritual Care Department in
delivering a healing environment for patients, families, and staff. The scope and depth of this position is
limited when compared with that of a Chaplain who carries board certification credentials. This is a PRN "as needed" Chaplain position.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
* Bachelor's degree required in spiritual care arts or equivalent bachelor's degree from a college, university or institution accredited by the applicant's institutional faith body. For all degrees, study in a theologically
related field is preferred. An equivalency may be granted if the applicant can document four years of
employment in an occupation that requires direct engagement with people, with at least two of those years in ministry related work with a faith-based organization or body.
* At hire, applicant must have at least one unit of CPE or applicant may enroll in a CSH approved internal Clinical Pastoral Orientation (CPO) and complete the same within 12 months of hire. If the CPO option is utilized, A full unit of CPE that meets the standards of the next bullet point below, must be completed within 24 months of hire.
* CPE Units are required to be from an entity that is recognized by an accrediting agency listed by the U.S.
department of Education (DOE) or an internal CSH approved CPE program aligning with the competencies held by an entity recognized by the DOE.
* Continuing Educational Standards Required: Adjutant Chaplains are required to complete 15 hours of continuing education in chaplaincy related topics annually (CY), except when enrolled in CPO/E (cf. Mountain Region ICCE guidelines).
