Overview: The ESL Adjunct Faculty Member is expected to work collaboratively with the Stratford Language Institute Program Director, the International Student Office, and other SLI faculty to facilitate student success and strengthen the reputation of SLI by promoting excellence through curriculum development and delivery. 
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
* Promote and motivate student success by engaging students in the learning process and accommodate for varied learning styles and developmental levels within the classroom/program.
* Adhere, update, and maintain syllabi based on the approved curriculum.
* Maintain class schedules and instructional integrity through adherence to curriculum.
* Teach the assigned courses in accordance with the syllabi in order to meet the objectives of the institution.
* Create a respectful and professional environment that is conducive to language acquisition and learning.
* Ensure positive student outcomes through continuous assessment of student learning.
* Maintain appropriate records related to students including attendance, grades, and other documents as well as ensuring their delivery to the SLI Program Director in a timely manner.
* Document and report student progress by submitting required grade reports. 
* Access and maintain classroom documents in Google Classroom and MOODLE.
* Assist in the selection of course materials, library holdings, instructional equipment, and educational resources when needed.
* Manage classroom behavior in ways that maximize learning.
* Facilitate student retention and placement through positive student interactions.
* Assist the ESL students in gaining an understanding of American culture.
* Observe and respect Teacher-Student boundaries at all times.
* Remain current in specialized discipline through continuing education and professional development.
* Maintain a flexible attitude toward the implementation of new ideas in the classroom/program.
* Be open to teaching any classes in the program that align with qualifications.
* Be willing to attend staff development opportunities and to share the information with colleagues as needed.
* Attend required meetings and accurately complete required reports in a timely manner.
* Assist in the recruitment of students when needed.
* Ability to relate with compassion to people of other cultures or nationalities

Qualifications:
Required Experience and Education:
* Instructors must have a Master's degree, preferably in TESOL or related field and/or TEFL or TESOL Certification
* Post-secondary work experience in language instruction 
* Fluent speaker of English at a minimum CEFR level of C2 if English is not the native language.
