Responsibilities:
CHI CUMC Bergan is seeking a highly skilled & experienced Acute Care Neurosurgeon. Join a team committed to providing outstanding care for our communities.
* Patient Care: Diagnose and treat medical conditions; develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
* Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams; foster a collaborative approach.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
* Team Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
* Quality Improvement: Engage in quality assurance initiatives and analyze clinical outcomes for improvement.
* Compliance: Adhere to ethical standards and stay informed about healthcare regulations.
* Continuous Learning: Stay updated on medical advancements and participate in ongoing education and training.
Practice details:
* Highly skilled & experienced Acute Care Neurosurgeon with a focus on trauma and complex spine.
* Spine Fellowship training is preferred
* All Call based model, High-acuity Level I Trauma support (No RVU requirements).
* 10 Primary Call Shifts + 4 Back-up Call Shifts per month.
* Provide inpatient and limited outpatient care for emergent cases.
* Evaluate new consults and outside transfers.
* Operates on urgent and emergent conditions including cranial and spinal trauma.
* Collaborate with ICU, ED, orthopedic, neurology, and trauma surgery teams.
* Supervise and support residents, APPs, and nursing staff as needed.
* 6-15 consults per 24 hour period.
Qualifications:
* American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
* A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
