Responsibilities:

The Acute Care Services Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with advanced knowledge and
clinical expertise in acute care nursing, specifically within telemetry and medical surgical departments. This
individual is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of patient and family satisfaction in a costeffective
manner, while adhering to evidence based practice. The CNS assesses the needs of patients and their
families within Acute Care Services, assists in the planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care, and
ensures the implementation of coordinated and effective care programs for telemetry and medical surgical
patients. This person is an expert practitioner whose goal is to realize optimum quality nursing practice through
direct patient care, clinical staff development, consultation, and research. The CNS also facilitates policy writing
and conducts competency assessments.

Qualifications:

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
* Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. 
* Masters of Science in Nursing
* Minimum of 3 years Clinical Experience

Preferred Requirements:

* Theoretical & Practical expertise in Nursing Education and Policy preferred.
* Current Clinical Nurse Specialist Core (CNS-BC) certification
