Responsibilities:
SoftwareOne is looking for an outstanding AWS Consultant - L3 support to join our ambitious Managed Services support team. This role is uniquely crafted to provide you with the opportunity to work on world-class cloud infrastructure projects and collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring flawless operation and support of AWS environments for our clients.
Responsibilities
* Provide third level (L3) support in troubleshooting issues in AWS cloud infrastructure, Operating System, and networking in customer environments.
* Offer expert guidance and mentorship to team members and customers.
* Own and resolve sophisticated tasks/issues, and effectively pass knowledge to the team.
* Deliver technical support to customers, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to AWS infrastructure.
* Collaborate with Level 1 & 2 Support Engineers, internal customers, and other support teams to diagnose and resolve sophisticated technical issues.
* Validate and raise issues to AWS support after using all internal resources.
* Apply monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Splunk to supervise system health and respond to incidents to ensure high availability.
* Work with AWS Backup Services and manage Patch Management life cycle through AWS SSM.
* Conduct root cause analysis and find opportunities for system and process improvements.
* Follow established incident management procedures to mitigate the impact of disruptions.
* Participate in the planning and implementation of changes and improvements to AWS infrastructure, including testing and validation of new features and functionality.
* Collaborate with other teams and vendors to advance and resolve critical issues promptly and work towards service improvements.
* Generate reports to analyze trends, evaluate the performance of the Event Management process, and contribute to continual service improvement.
* Craft and maintain standard operating procedures, documentation of configurations, and processes.
* Develop industry standard methodologies within the team.
Qualifications:
Requirements
* Demonstrated ability working in AWS Services with proven experience in DevOps including CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub, Terraform, CFT, etc.
* Flexibility to work in 24x7 rotational shifts with rotational rostered week-offs and fair compensation for any on-call support outside business hours.
* Professional experience in architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
* Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Splunk.
* Proficiency in commonly used AWS Services including EC2, RDS, VPC, ELB, ALB, Route53, etc.
* Understanding of networking concepts such as network layers (the OSI model), IP connectivity, TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP(s), and troubleshooting common connectivity issues.
* Knowledge and understanding of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
* Experience with containers (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
Technical Skills
* Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python to automate routine tasks and streamline operations, including writing scripts for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
* Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implementing IaC principles using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage and provision cloud resources programmatically.
Soft Skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal customers, articulate technical concepts clearly, and provide outstanding customer service.
* Ability and willingness to challenge constructively and effectively.
* Adaptability to changes in the work environment.
Certification
* AWS Cloud Practitioner (or above).
* Must hold Associate level exam certifications (e.g., Solution Architect, Sysops Associate).
* DevOps certifications such as Terraform Associate.
* ITIL Foundation certified engineer.
* Professional level certification (e.g., Solution Architect, Sysops Professional) preferred.
