Overview:
As an AWS Cloud Architect, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation. Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
* Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer
* Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24 7 environments
* Implement and oversee cloud strategies include migrations and optimization
* Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
* Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
* Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
* Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
* Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components
* Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
* Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and 'fixes'
* Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
* Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
* Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
* Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
* Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
* Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
* Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members
* This position is required to be onsite in Bethesda at least one (1) day a week
Qualifications:
Required:
* Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
* BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
* 10+ Years of total experience
* 8 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
* 8 Years of Experience with two or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)
* 8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
* 8 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment
* 8 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
* 8 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration
* 5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
* At least one of the following certifications:
* PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
* ITIL Foundations
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
* Google Cloud Professional Certification
* Azure Solutions Architect Expert
* 5 Years of Experience working in a client facing or consultative architecture role
* Travel to client site in Bethesda, MD at least one (1) day a week
Preferred:
* MS Degree in an IT-related field
* Certifications in each of the four major clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI):
* Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert
* Microsoft Certified Solution Architect Expert
* Google Cloud Engineer
* Google Cloud Architect
* Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Associate
* Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Professional
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
* Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred
* Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
* Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
* Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
* Experience working in a Health Science Program
