Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring coordination of all air traffic control clearances, as well as, ensuring all flight line activities, weather observer duties are performed and all relevant notices & approvals issued and/or received. The ATC Chief manages a single ATC facility at a single airfield.

Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Ensures the facility operates according to military and FAA rules and regulations applying to ATC.
* Develops and maintains an FTP and a FTM.
* Serves as ATCS/CTO examiner IAW AR 95-2, FAAO JO 7220.1B, and published regulations.
* Ensures all controllers meet the physical standards of AR 40-501, AR 95-2, Department of the Army Pamphlet (DA Pam) 611-21, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) handbook X-118, their official job descriptions, and/or local/host nation requirements.
* Ensures the operational readiness of facility equipment and associated NAVAIDs.
* Maintains a current file of pertinent regulations, manuals, charts, maps, and training material IAW published regulations and AR 95-2.
* Ensures assigned personnel maintain currency in assigned facilities.
* Maintains custodial control of all facility forms, records, and publications and ensures their accuracy, completeness, and distribution.
* Initiates and maintains a facility duty schedule.
* Conducts testing and practical evaluation for PQ or rating of trainee controllers.
* Administers biennial written exams and conducts skill evaluations.
* Ensures the number of non-ATC personnel in an ATC facility is managed. The Chief will be the final authority on the admittance of non-ATC personnel to the facility and the number permitted at any one time.
* Ensures ATC systems meet all safety and operational requirements.
* Maintains a flexible work schedule dependent on flight schedules.
* Supervises all employees in ATC and Operations.
* Performs other related work as assigned.
