Summary/Objective:

The A/C Copper Brazer will assemble and braze copper tubing and components used in commercial A/C units.

Essential Functions:

* Perform copper brazing using torches and other brazing equipment.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
* Prepare and clean components to ensure strong, leak-free joints
* Assemble tubing and fittings according to precise layout and alignment requirements
* Inspect finished brazed joints for quality and conformance to standards
* Maintain tools and equipment in a safe working condition
* Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use and ventilation procedures
* Collaborate with quality control and production teams to resolve issues
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing quality and timely results
* Perform other duties as directed by supervisor and management
* Perform other tasks as required

Working Conditions:

Qualifications:

List all education & experience required for the role. Include years of experience with specific requirements.

* High school diploma or GED
* Demonstrated experience in copper brazing or related metal joining processes preferred
* Proficiency in torch brazing
* Ability to read and work from blueprints, mechanical drawings and work instructions
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards
* Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or transportation air conditioning manufacturing
* Understanding of different filler materials and fluxes used in copper brazing
* Knowledge of leak testing procedures

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Travel:

There is no travel requirements for this position.

* Able to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards
* Ability to use hand tools
* Ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products
* Ability to read and follow documented procedures and standards
* Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
* Willing and available to work overtime to reach goals
* Clear communication (oral and written) skills
* Technical School is a plus
* Knowledge of Mobile Air Conditioning is a plus
* 609 Certification is a plus
